-Our History-

Our Pleasant Hill Christian Church history dates back to 1868 in Montgomery County, Illinois. Relocated to it's present location when I-55 was built in 1974, it's foundation in Christ is evident as is it's love for the community it serves. The church's stated mission is to connect the people of our part of central Illinois to Jesus Christ and to mature them into His Disciples.

For more than 140 years Pleasant Hill has been reaching and caring for those around us. We pray that through all of our actions, we can continue to glorify God who has so richly blessed us.

In recent years the Lord has blessed us with tremendous growth. Expansion of the physical building was warranted in 2000 by the increased attendance at our worship. We give God praise for the people He has brought to Pleasant Hill to join our church family. Our facility, built with a large amount of talented volunteers from our congregation, stands as a testimony for our desire to reach more lives for Christ.

If you have a need for a church home, or desire more information about Pleasant Hill Christian Church, please don't hesitate to contact us. Better yet, how about paying us a visit. We would love to have you worship with us. More importantly, we would enjoy the opportunity to be a blessing to you!

-Our Visions/Beliefs-

Our weekend worship services are designed to connect you to God on an intimate level. We place a high priority on biblical teaching, engaging worship, and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

We also believe that people need to be connected with Others, that no one should stand alone. We offer small groups designed to foster friendships with other people in a friendly and caring environment.

We have a strong conviction that every follower of Christ should enjoy doing ministry. Connecting to Ministry is vital for your spiritual growth, and you have the honor of impacting others. We offer ministry teams so you can serve alongside others.

Finally, we believe that God commands believers to connect to the World. We encourage people to reach out to others by investing in their lives and inviting them to Christ and the church.

What We Believe
We believe God is the sole Creator of the universe. Jesus Christ in the flesh was both God and man. That Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified and died for payment of our sins, was buried and raised again on the third day and then ascended into heaven. We believe Jesus is coming again and that He alone can atone for our sins and provide eternal salvation because He alone is Lord.

What is Our Mission
We believe our mission here at PHCC is to connect the people of our part of central Illinois to Jesus Christ and to mature them into His Disciples.

What We Teach
We teach the Bible is the Word of God, supernaturally inspired, inerrant, preserved through time and God's divine standard for life and eternity. We have no other books to follow except the Bible.

Who We Are
Pleasant Hill Christian Church is a nondenominational fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ who have no creeds but Christ, no book but the Bible, and no name but Christian.

Our belief of Baptism
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead.

Our practice of The Lord's Supper
The Lord's Supper is a weekly act of obedience when all who have examined their walk with the Lord are invited to partake of the bread and the cup. Through the act of communion, we remember the death of Christ and anticipate His second coming.
